Pharmacovigilance System

National Pharmacovigilance Centre (NPC) is working under the Division of Pharmacy Services, Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) that collects reports of adverse events from healthcare professionals, Patients, Provincial Pharmacovigilance Centres, Public Health Programmes and Registration holders of therapeutic goods.

NPC is responsible to detect signals; recommend regulatory actions; integrate provincial, public health programmes, public sector hospitals’ pharmacovigilance centres, in the national database; intra country and global communication and coordination; issue safety alerts, newsletter and advisories; awareness for public and training session for healthcare professionals; development of statutory legislations in the country and to perform other functions as elaborated in Pharmacovigilance Rules.
